Scoutmaster's Minute

24 January 2007

Hello friends of Troop 41-

Honestly, I do mean to update these minutes more often - It just seems like the time flies, and before I know it, several months have passed.

Neat things are happening at Troop 41! Matt Gastgeb is our newest Eagle! Matt's ceremony was January 13th, and was a wonderful experience. As a scoutmaster, nothing gives me more pleasure than an Eagle ceremony. To see how our scouts have grown and earned this honor is what we leaders do what we do. It's a good thing Eagle ceremonies are so rewarding - there should be three more happening soon! Pending Boards of Review, three more scouts have recently completed their work towards Eagle. We will hold off congratulations until the Boards of Review are completed, but we are proud of all of you.

If there is anything that rivals the joy of an Eagle ceremony, it is attending a Cub Scout cross-over to welcome new scouts into the troop. I am hoping we'll have 3-5 new scouts soon. We are known as a welcoming and accepting unit, and I'm sure the new scouts will join right in.

It may seem early, but it's time to start thinking about summer camp. We are going earlier this year - June 24th-30th. Please talk to Mr. Nicodemus or me if you have any questions about camp, or directly with him about camp fees.

As always, if you have any questions, comments, or problems, please do not hesitate to contact me.
