Troop 41 Families:

Well, we have all just returned home from our first Indoor Rally and I want to let everyone know that I am extremely proud of our scouts! After being in existence for less than 2 months, the scouts from Troop 41 wound up in a 3-way tie for third place. Even more noteworthy than this spectacular finish is the observation that our scouts always held their heads up high, cheered for our Troop as well as the other troops and did not complain when things didn't go exactly their way.

Highlights of the night included a 3rd place finish in the Flint and Steel competition thanks to the well-honed skills of Ed Folsom and a 2nd place finish in the First-Aid event. Actually, in my heart I believe that they finished 1st in First-Aid were it not for some differences in the way that some judges were scoring the event. Also, out of 10 teams competing, we never finished lower than 6th in any one event.

So, all-in-all it was a great night and I am continually impressed by the skill and maturity of these young men. Remember, our troop does not have any scout older than 14 at this point, and some troops had members of their team who were 16 and 17 years old!

In closing, I want to congratulate all of our scouts and I want to thank all of the parents who stayed to watch and cheer on our team. And as I said in the beginning - I am truly proud of these guys, and I certainly hope that you are as well!

Yours in Scouting,

Scott
